1. What is the "Service Charge"? Is this in the event the merchant is still doing cash discount instead of dual pricing?
A service charge can be anything the venue charges the guest for. ie. room fee, corkage fee or charging the guest for the CC processing fees
2. What is the difference between Paid Tips and Retained Tips?
Paid tips are tips paid to the server, Retained tips are a % of the Paid tips the venue holds back from the server to cover CC processing fees.
3. What is the difference between Tips and Gratuity? Is Gratuity the automatic tip applied to tables over a certain number of guests?
A TIP the guest leaves at their discretion, A GRATUITY is something you are telling the guests to pay. Those are taxed differently in some states and counties.
4. What is Reconciliation not processed? Is this a pending sale that was not closed out before the EOD ran?
Reconciliation not processed are tabs that have been opened and items rang in that need to be paid for but have not been paid for yet.
