Updating the terminals

Dejavoo Z8

From the home screen hit the

  1. F1 Key
  2. Core Menu
  3. Utility then type in the manager password. This will always be 1234 for Dejavoo devices
  4. Software Download
  5. Connect
  6. Choose your internet connection type(Wifi or Ethernet)
  7. select Full or Partial.

Dejavoo Z11/Z9

  1. Tap on the 3 Lines Icon
  2. Choose Utility then type in the manager password. This will always be 1234 for Dejavoo devices
  3. Software Download
  4. Connect
  5. Choose your internet connection type(Wifi or Ethernet)
  6. Select Full or Partial.

Partial Download

If the merchant currently has transactions on the terminal, It is ok to proceed with a Partial download. The terminal will show a notification saying, This terminal has an open batch do you wish to proceed anyway. As long as they selected Partial, click OK.

It will then ask for the TPN. If the TPN is already in there you can push the green OK button and it will start to download. 

Once a pop up comes up to apply update, click the Green OK button again to apply updates, and the terminal will finish updating. 

Full Download

When selecting Full Download be sure to have the merchant Batch out before performing the download. Without doing so issues with transactions that have not been batched out could arise.

Full Downloads are only needed in the initial setup of the device or if major changes are made to the back end.

If a terminal is damaged, and you are downloading the same TPN onto a new Device, you must release the TPN from the old Device before you can proceed with the download of the TPN on the new device. If you do not release the TPN from the old Serial Number, when trying to download the TPN on the new Device you will receive and error message "No Updates Available"

To release the TPN, Log into STEAM, find the TPN in question. Once you open the file, there will be a Release button at the top left side of the screen, next to the Serial Number of the device. Each time a TPN is downloaded to a machine, that TPN is locked to that Serial Number. Once you click the Release button, it will release that TPN from that Serial Number and will be available to download on a new device. Clicking Release only releases the TPN for a set amount of time, and if the TPN is not downloaded to a new device within that time, the TPN will become locked to the old device again.
